Lion Heart is a surreal painting that was born from the Egyptian Sphinx. Rather than boasting a tiara as you may expect, this Dark Fairy Series painting is made completely from animal skulls. Her necklace is a freshly ripped out heart that she wears with pride. If that wasn’t enough to make sure that you knew this kitty wasn’t one to pet, then you can also see that she is surrounded entirely by fireflies, which, in some cultures are thought to be a representation of the souls of the dead. When I was creating this particular painting, I decided that it need a few extra touches, which I added with fairy style cat’s eyes that were seen on a sunset blood red sky.
