Mermaid with whale shark
The billowing hair of the mermaid was always something that I wanted to make sure that was a key feature of this particular ocean painting. This is why I decided that I wanted to make sure that it stood out, using swirling shapes of gold. This is a contrast against the black background of the whale sharks, surrounding her. In order to keep this image within the abstract nature of this series, I added a number of decorative touches, all of which came in a variety of colors with a number of details that really brought this image to life.
